An interesting thing happened to Kari Hyatt after
earning her BA in Art History and Studio Art from Wake Forest University and
becoming an award winning Architectural Student from NC State, she realized her
passion was for the care and healing of animals.
A varied resume including the care of Asian
Elephants in Thailand, emergency care for critically injured or ill pets back in
the States, and intensive surgery experiences for small animals have prepared
her for the profession of taking care of the animals of families who are as
passionate about their own pets.
After receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
from North Carolina State University, Dr. Hyatt has practiced small animal
medicine across North Carolina. The lure of family, fiancé, and the
opportunities Charlotte has to offer brought her to share her calling with
Mallard Creek Animal Hospital.
In her “spare” time, Dr. Hyatt loves to read, draw,
travel, and has taken on home improvement challenges. She shares that home with
three rescue orange cats, three rescue dogs, and her precious lap dog Ellie… a
Bull Mastiff.
