Laurie Anne Walden, DVM
Dr. Walden received a Bachelor of Arts and Science as a South Carolina Scholar
from the University of South Carolina and a DVM from North Carolina State
University College of Veterinary Medicine. She also completed an
internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Auburn University before
joining the staff of Mallard Creek Animal Hospital in 1995.
Dr. Walden enjoys the variety provided by general
practice, and has a special interest in diseases of the eye. She has been a
member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners since receiving the
senior student award from that organization in veterinary school.
Although her practice at Mallard Creek is limited to furry
animal, she has worked with fish and reptiles during her training and has fond
memories of doing knee surgery on an iguana during her internship at
Auburn. She had a job as a goat milker and farm hand during veterinary
school at NC State, and still gets to play with her parents' goats on visits
home to South Carolina.
Dr. Walden lives in Charlotte with her husband, Gary, two
children, one cat,
and two dogs. She plays handbells at Myers Park United Methodist Church
and also enjoys reading, contra dancing, and cooking...especially desserts.
