Mary H. Fluke, DVM
Dr. Fluke has wanted to a veterinarian since she was a youngster.  She thought she would practice on farm animals and horses...imagine her surprise when she ended up specializing in dogs and cats!  She earned her BA from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, and graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986.  She completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Purdue University before moving to Charlotte in 1987.  She enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice, but often finds herself focusing on surgery and behavioral issues.

Dr. Fluke teaches puppy socialization classes, both at her home and at Mallard Creek Animal Hospital.  She also does private training consultations, emphasizing positive reward based training methods.  When not helping other people with their pets, she's riding herd on her own pack of four dogs and three cats.  Among them, an Otterhound who does free-style obedience and a cat who is clicker trained and does tricks. Click here for more information.

When not working or cleaning up after her dogs, she can be found in her garden, repainting her living room, or playing music with the Charlotte Folk Society.
