Lions, and Tigers, and Bears! Oh My! Dr.
Christy Montgerard has worked on all of
them as a zoo vet in Oklahoma. Her own six
cats, two dogs, one bird and a corn snake kept her busy with small animals.
As a native North Carolinian, Dr.
Montgerard is thrilled to be back home to
practice at Mallard Creek Animal Hospital.
She has a particular interest in surgery, internal medicine, and enjoys caring
for the furrier members of a family.
A graduate of South Mecklenburg High
School, Dr. Montgerard graduated from Appalachian State University in
Psychology, but the tug of her love for animals had her fulfill requirements at
UNCC and on to pursue her degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from North
Carolina State University. She finished with an internship from Purdue.
She and her husband, Hank, are outdoor
enthusiast from snow skiing to horse back riding and tolerate remodeling “this
old house.”
